Hey guys, in his article I am going to walk you through the steps on how to install the Asynchronous Google Analytics Plugin for Joomla 1.5 from OpenPotion.com.

First, to follow along with this tutorial, you’ll want to head here and grab your copy of the free plugin.

After you download the plugin, start by logging into your Joomla administrator portal and then clicking on “Extensions > Install / Uninstall."

Once you’re on the Install/Uninstall page, you’ll want to click “Browse” and find the plugin that you just downloaded, it should look similar to this:

Once you navigate your files to find it, simply double click to select the install package you downloaded earlier and then click on “Upload File & Install”. If done correctly, you should see something similar to this:

After a successful install, head on over to Extensions > Plugin Manager, once there, navigate to your plugins and find the Asynchronous Google Analytics Plugin and click on the title to configure the settings. Once you’re in the configuration area, all you have to enter is your Google Analytics ID, should look like this “UA-XXXXX-XX” (the amount of numbers will vary), see my example:

Once you have entered your tracking code ID, make sure the plugin is set to “Enabled” and just click Save and that's it!

Congratulations, you are now running with the latest and greatest Asynchronous Google Analytics code.
